Why Would Anyone Move to Ft. Walton Beach Now?

Do you visit the Fort Worth Beach area often or maybe you read about it online or hear about it from other people that like to vacation here in the area? You sit and think to yourself, why would anyone want to actually move to the Fort Worth Beach area now? Well, I do have a few reasons I'd love to share with you on why anyone would want to move to Fort Worth Beach. 

Alright. So, why would anyone want to move to Fort Walton Beach now?

JOB OPPORTUNITIES

Well, first, let me start off by talking about the job opportunities. Of course, we're hearing about it. It's probably happening all over the country, but especially here in Fort Walton Beach, there are a lot of hiring signs everywhere. Lots of companies are offering sign on bonuses just to really catch your eye and spark up your interest in submitting an application with them. But whatever line of work that you're looking for, whether you're looking to work in restaurant business, retail, hospitality, or healthcare, there's lots of opportunities I'm seeing here in the area. I mean, I see the signs, I see the ads online. So, if you're looking to maybe transfer and stay in the same line of work or if you're just looking for something new all around, you'll definitely be able to find something that meets what you're looking for here in the For Walton Beach area.

PLACE FOR RETIREES

Fort Walton Beach is also a great place for retirees. We do have a lot of people that reach out to us that are not even from this area, but they have possibly vacation here in the past or they have fit friends and family telling them about this beautiful area. So, we have people that are wanting to really just sell off their property where they live and buy a beach home or condo here in the Fort Walton Beach area. Really can't blame them because why wouldn't you want to just relax on the beach on a daily basis after spending so many years just working your butt off. So, there's a lot of people that are looking specifically just a place on the beach and just watch the beautiful sunrise and the sunsets. There's also a lot of things for retirees to enjoy in the area too. There's golf courses, there's lots of fishing opportunities, there's fishing charters. But, you have your own boat and like to do your own thing. Of course, you can buy a waterfront property and possibly even have your own dock out back or have access to a community boat dock. But, yes, there's lots of things to keep the retirees entertained as well. Again, we do have a lot of people that reach out to us just to get more information and make sure that Fort Walton Beach is the right fit for them. But we do, again, have a lot of retirees that have even lived here in the past. Maybe they've been stationed here or just have some form of appointment here in the past and had to leave. But when the time was right for them, they are more than happy to be able to relocate back here to the Fort Walton Beach area.

MILITARY BASE

Another great thing about Fort Walton Beach is that there are two local military bases which creates a very diverse population. That was one of the things that I myself really liked when I moved to Fort Walton Beach back in 1994. My father was in the military. So, we were able to meet lots of different people from different areas. Of course, there are so many people that were just born and raised in Fort Walton Beach, and they love it here and never really have the desire to leave. But there's a lot of other people that lived in different parts of the country or different parts of the world and just all happen to meet here in the Fort Walton Beach area and create great friendships, great relationships, you know, just to hear other peoples what their lifestyles were like in other places and compare them to what life is like here in the Fort Walton Beach. It's really great to to be able to experience. Again, I was just probably ten or eleven when we moved here and that was just something I always liked from the beginning, especially being military brat and relocating a few times. Throughout my childhood I love to actually just settle here in Fort Walton Beach and really just start a life here. But I did end up leaving right after high school, but after ten plus years, I did find my way back here to Fort Walton Beach.

GREAT PLACE FOR ACTIVITIES

Now if you enjoy the outdoors, Fort Walton Beach is also great for activities. There's lots of parks to go to with your family, your children, your pets. There's a lot of restaurants and bars, and the area is still continuing to grow. There are some vacant lots that have been cleared recently and new businesses being built. And there's also other vacant lots or land, vacant buildings that have been maybe torn down and rebuilt into something even more great. But this area is really continuing to grow. It's come a very long way from back when I was a child, so I loved see the progress that Fort Walton Beach is making. It's drawing a lot of more attention, a lot of more visitors here. They are also enjoying the changes that they've seen over the years in Fort Walton Beach. So, there's just, again, lots of places to go for fun with, whether it's with your family or with friends. If you want to go to the bars, there's a downtown Fort Walton where they have the Fort Walton Beach Landing and then some bars down there too. If you want to walk down the strip, some food trucks to enjoy. There's also festivals that will happen at the Fort Walton Beach Landing as well. Some fireworks, it's a great place to take your pets and your children to play in the playground. But, yes, you'll see a lot of that here in the Fort Walton Beach area if you enjoy to enjoy being outdoors. I also have to throw out a ferry park there as well. I like to go to ferry park. You do have disc golf out there, a walking path that's about a mile long and playground, basketball court, picnic area. But just want to throw that out there because Ferry Park is one of my favorite parks here in the Fort Worth Beach area. But, yes, lots of things to do for you and your family, especially if you enjoy the outdoors.

GREAT PLACE FOR FAMILY

So overall, Fort Walton Beach is just a great place to raise a family. I've actually read reviews on niche.com. A lot of people do agree, it's a great place to raise the family. I mean, the schools have higher ratings and there's a lower crime rate. Of course, you're going to have your typical burglaries or maybe shoplifters out there. But nothing major, nothing that we would really see so much on, like international television or national television, I mean. But, it's just, it makes you feel safer knowing that the crime rate is a little bit lower, especially if you have kids that you're trying to just push outside to go play because they're stuck on video games all day. You want to feel comfortable with your children being able to play outside without being so concerned. There's lots of neighborhoods that you can look into if you're curious about the safety and security of the areas. I can definitely give you the information on that if you want more on specific areas. We're more than happy to point you in the right direction on where to find information on the crime rates and the school ratings as well. Again, niche.com has lots of information as far as the ratings go. But yes, a lot of people in their reviews have said that it's a great place for raising family. They raised children here themselves. They were born and raised here as well. So, a lot of people are saying the same thing. So, I'm not making it up, it's not just my opinion, it's based on a lot of other residents of Fort Walton Beach. Also, that it really is just a great place to just either settle or maybe just start a family before trying to decide if Fort Walton Beach is not the right place for you. But, that's really for you to see for yourself.

BEACHES

Now, before I wrap this up, I don't want you thinking that I forgot the most important part about Fort Walton Beach and that would be the beach itself. This place has the most beautiful beaches. Of course, the Emerald Coast is known for its beautiful Emerald Green Water and the sugary white sand. But I especially like to go to the beach on Okaloosa Island, because there are seven public beach access points and there's the Boardwalk and there's Beasley Park as well. So, there's lots of different ways you'd be able to access the beach if you don't actually live in one of the condos out there. There's just lots of fun times you can have out there on the beach whether you're looking to get married or just looking to hang out with your significant other or want your children to play out in the water. You can't really bring your pets on the public beach. So, I know we do have a lot of people ask if that is allowed, but unfortunately, no, it's not. But if you do live in a condo, if you own a condo on the beach, owners are allowed to have them, but they just don't permit pets to be along the beach. Now, you can also get a, if you purchase a condo, you'll be able to enjoy the beach really just seven days a week and not worry about having to find parking to access the beach. I know that can be a bit of an issue during the spring and summertime. It can get very congested here because everybody's trying to get to the same place at the same time of day. But however, that's really the best part about Fort Walton Beach for me, is how beautiful the beach is. That's why even though I don't spend a lot of time just relaxing on the beach, I do show a lot of condos that are located on the beach. So, I'll still have my opportunities to be able to catch the great views from higher floors or even just walk out to the beach just to show the potential buyers what it's like to be able to walk right out onto the sand from where they call home. So, yep, don't think I forgot about the beautiful beaches here in the Fort Walton Beach area. Huge reason why a lot of people would want to live here.
