What is Winter Vacation in Florida Like
Winter time is still a great time to plan out a vacation and a lot of people would want to plan a vacation here in Florida. So, if you were wondering what winter vacation is like down here in the sunshine state, feel free to stick around. I'm going to talk a little bit about, what would your vacation is like in Florida. Stay tuned.
Alright. So, what is winter vacation like in Florida?
Well, it kind of depends on where in Florida you go. We do have a lot of people that ask about this weather during December, January time frame. It's still warm here for the most part. But, it is warmer in the further south that you go in Florida. Here on the panhandle, it does have its chilly days, but nothing long term. We might have a cold front come through. But nothing to put a damper on some plans and outdoor activities that you may have to where you don't want to be out there in the cold. So, that's nothing too much to worry about.
Now, even in the wintertime, you can still have the opportunity to enjoy the beach if being on the beach is part of your plans for vacation, even if it is the winter time. So, it might be a little colder than what you might care for. I do still see a lot of people out in the water during November, December, January time frame. You won't see me out there, but there are people that enjoy the colder waters and it won't stop them. You'll still see them out. But, if they're not in the water, you'll still see a lot of people walking the beach. A lot of visitors still coming out this way, of course, to avoid the larger crowds in the summertime. So again, that's why wintertime is another preferred time of the year to come visit. But, yes, a lot of people will still walk the beaches. They want to catch the sunrise, the sunset. It's not as crowded as it would be in the summertime. But even if you plan on going to big attractions, still you want to plan that ahead. But purchase tickets in advance just so they're not sold out. If you're going to events, you want to make sure that you, you know, plan out your timing, your route, your parking, all that good stuff just in case you do run to another big winter crowd that's playing the same events that you're playing to attend.
Another thing that's really, really great visiting in December is all the Christmas lights. Of course, really any time after October 31st, after Halloween is when you'll start to see some Christmas lights going up. If not then, then it will be after Thanksgiving or around the time, the end of November. Lots of Christmas decorations are up, so it just makes Florida look even more beautiful. I know we don't have the snow and all that good stuff, but the Christmas decorations are still a sight to see. A lot of people decorate their palm trees, their trees in the yard. There's a lot of parades that you can catch. There's Christmas parades and what's even more awesome are the boat parades. So, a lot of people would decorate their boatsa and put them out in the water for all to see. We do have that here in the Destin area as well. But, if you are down around the Crystal River area, you can also snorkel with manatees. That's an awesome thing that I would have never thought of until I researched it because the manatees do come this way during that time of year.
Now, you can also visit Disney World because we all know how magical Disney World is, but it's even more magical during the Christmas season in the wintertime because of all the extra decorations that they put up. I personally have not been to Disney during the Christmas time frame, but I have obviously seen pictures and videos of what it looks like. So I do hope I can make it out there one day during the season, so I can experience the extra magic during the wintertime at Disney.
But, again, here in the panhandle where we're at, it's still, we can per se have a vacation similar to what you would have during the summertime. Again, there's the beaches. There's lots of events and festivals that you can still attend. Of course, you're going to have opportunity anywhere in Florida. There's always something to do all year round.
