Top 10 Things to do in Florida in [December ]

Alright. We are near the end of the year here in 2022, and a lot of people want to know what are some of the fun things to do during the month of December here in Florida. I know I mentioned in a previous video what winter vacation is like, but I actually want to break that down a little bit and give you some of the awesome things that you definitely need to put on your schedule to do while you're here in Florida in December. So, if you are planning a trip or you want to have a good reason to be able to plan a trip, stay tuned. I have some activities and some places on the list that you might want to know about.

Alright. So, the top 10 things to do in Florida in December, it's no particular order. It's just ten awesome things.

1. VISIT DISNEY WORLD

You definitely want to visit Disney World during the month of December, so you can see all the magical lights. I mean, Disney World is already magical all year round. But, what better to see the enhancement during the Christmas season. So, you definitely want to make sure you plan that trip ahead. There's still going to be a crowd. I mean, it's Christmas break, so a lot of kids are out of school and what better place to visit during the Christmas break than Disney World.

2. CHECK OUT THE BOAT PARADES

You definitely want to check out the boat parades. We do have that here around the Destin area as well, so make sure you check the event schedule and make sure you catch that if you are in our area during that time. That's a fun thing to watch because they have a lot of boat owners that would decorate their boats with Christmas decorations and line up for a parade as you would see any normal parade on land, but it's obviously on the water. But, it's just as cool to watch so make sure you check one of those boat parades out.

3. CHECK OUT SANTA'S ENCHANTED FOREST

If you are in the Miami area, you definitely want to check out Santa's enchanted forest. There is actually the world's largest Christmas themed park with more than a hundred rides, other shows and games and attractions. And, on other place to go, which is actually number four on my list, is the zoo lights at Miami Zoo.

4. ZOO LIGHTS MIAMI

So, that's two things you can actually do in Miami. So, it's two for one. Two, when you go to the zoo because you get to see all the animals and you get to enjoy the Christmas decorations as well.

5. SPACE COAST LIGHT FESTIVAL ON PALM BAY

This is where they transformed a 1.3 mile trail, Palm Bay's Fred Poppe Regional Park into a magical wonderland complete with animated displays and effects. They have a, the highlight of the trail is a two hundred foot light tunnel. You may have seen that online already or see videos of it where it's just basically a tunnel that's just covered with beautiful, beautiful lights. So, you definitely want to check that out. Again, that's called the Space Coast Light Festival in Palm Bay.

6. CHECK OUT THE SURFING SANTAS ON CHRISTMAS EVE

You definitely want to check out the surfing Santa's on Christmas Eve. This will be in Cocoa Beach. So, if you're in that area, you can either watch the surfing santas do their thing out on the water or you can even join them if you know what you're doing. Even if you don't, it's still going to be probably even more fun if you don't know what you're doing. But again, that's the surfing santas in Cocoa Beach usually around Christmas Eve.

7. VISIT THE NOW SNOWING EVENT IN CELEBRATION FLORIDA

You would definitely want to visit the now snowing event in celebration of Florida. This is where you could watch as white snowflurries fall from the sky with Charles Dickens carolers, horse drawn carriage rides, and ice skating rings that create a magical winter wonderland as well where you can sit back and watch the array of live performances or take a scenic ride on the express train until the main event is when it actually starts snowing. Again, that's the main event where they have all the snow come from the sky. So, lots of things to do there in the now snowing event in celebration of Florida.

8. JOIN THE FLAGSHIP PERFORMANCE TOUR

You could join the flagship performance tour to experience a 60 minute trolley through downtown Pensacola. So, that is right here in our area on the Panhandle. You can meet famous Christmas characters. You could put on your favorite holiday pajamas or Christmas sweaters and join the polar express tour. And, you could also take a journey through Whoville with Dr. Seuss characters or join the character filled celebration with snow flurries as well. So, even though it doesn't really naturally snow in Florida, there are definitely some opportunities to be able to experience the snowflurries here in the sunshine state.

9. DECLUTTER YOUR HOME

It's not really an event to go to or an attraction to go to, but it's still a great thing to do in December in Florida is to declutter your home and make space for all the Christmas gifts or your Christmas decorations that you want to put out. It's a great time to donate as well. So, of course, if you're going to go through all your belongings anyway and you plan on getting  rid of stuff, what they, was that they usually say, one man's trash is another person's treasure, somewhere along these lines. So, they could be something that you're not interested anymore or clothes that you don't wear and probably never even worn before, definitely donate that. You definitely make someone's Christmas brighter, giving them the opportunity to have things that they probably couldn't afford or they lost just whatever the situation may be. Your goods could definitely be of great a treasure to someone else. So, again, December is a great time to go ahead and declutter or if you were one of those people that put up Christmas decorations before December, like, end of October or November. You can go ahead and get that done in advance and get rid of all the stuff that you don't need to declutter and go ahead and get ready to donate all this for the Christmas season.

10. VISIT EMERALD COAST

Again, it was no particular order, so I'm not going to say it's the least favorite thing to do or the best, but you definitely want to visit the Emerald Coast here in the Destin area. It's a beautiful, beautiful place in the summertime as well as the wintertime. We would definitely love to see out and about and enjoying some of the festivals and activities that we have to offer here as well.
