Northwest Florida Is A Great Place For Outdoorsy People!

Are you one of those individuals that absolutely love to be outdoors, whether if it's just a few hours or all day long or even days at a time? Well, perfect! Because today, I'm going to tell you why Northwest Florida is the perfect destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Don't you go anywhere.

So, Northwest Florida is indeed a great destination for outdoor enthusiasts because it offers a combination of natural beauty, diverse landscapes and of course a wide range of outdoor activities. So, here are some of the reasons why you should consider coming to Northwest Florida for your next outdoor adventure.

STATE PARKS

So first, let's start by talking about the state parks. Northwest Florida has several state parks that offer of tons of activities such as hiking, camping, fishing, wildlife viewing, of course. I mean, you are outdoors with the animals, so of course, you're going to see them. Now, some of the popular state parks here in the area is Grayton Beach State Park. There's Topsaill Hill Preserve State Park and St. Andrews State Park. So, if you have an RV, definitely pack it up and bring it along and enjoy one of these fabulous state parks. Or, if you have a camper pack it up and bring that too. You definitely don't want to miss out on the opportunity to visit one of the awesome state parks here in Northwest, Florida, some of the best in state.

WILDLIFE VIEWING

Which also leads me to wildlife viewing, as I mentioned a minute ago. Northwest Florida is home to diverse range of wildlife, including dolphins, sea turtles, alligators, and birds. But, of course, if you are out in the wildlife, you might see a little more than that of course. But, if you do want to see these animals, you can take a guided tour or you can explore on your own to see these beautiful creatures on your own up close. But just don't get too close. I mean, you can go anywhere else to, you know, visit the aquariums or go to a zoo. However, when you are out in the wildlife itself, you are seeing the animals in their natural habitat. So, it's just a little, it's a different feel when you're out in the free world seeing these animals. So, wildlife viewing is definitely a great activity to be able to enjoy outdoors.

GOLFING

Now, let's talk about golfing for you golf enthusiasts out there. I know there's a lot of you that really enjoy golfing, especially a lot of the retirees that have reached out to us looking for a place to call home near a golf course. So, let's talk about that for a second. The Northwest Florida has some of the best golf courses in the country, including Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, the Raven Golf Club and Regatta Bay Golf and Country Clubs. So, these are all located in the Destin and Miramar Beach area. And as an added bonus, some of these golf courses do have homes for sale around it. So, you can easily purchase one of these homes and you are pretty much living the dream. Right? You can just get up in the morning, have your coffee, quick breakfast, and grab your clubs and walk right out to the course or hop in your golf cart and head on over. The downside to that is that your family would probably hardly ever see you because you are spending half your life out there on the green. So, be careful with that. You don't want to make anyone mad doing what you obviously enjoy doing. So, yes, golf courses are beautiful out in the Northwest Florida area. BIKING AND HIKING

Now, biking and hiking is top favorite here in the area too, especially around the state parks. A lot of people bring their bikes, but there are also other areas where they would rent them out to you. If you wanted to hop on a bike, you don't have to necessarily be, you know, in the woods at a State Park. But there are areas like in 30A and Miramar Beach and Destin where you can rent a bike and just go for a stroll down the road. You can just ride to the beach, just ride to local coffee shops or ice cream or bars. So, you wouldn't get in trouble for driving, you're on a bike, if you do exceed your limit for drinking. But anyways, back to being outdoors. Now, Northwest Florida has several trails for hiking and biking, including Timpoochee Trail, Blackwater Heritage State Trail, and Eastern Lake Trail. So, be sure to check those out if you enjoy biking or hiking.

BEACHES

Now, you know I cannot go through one of our videos about the panhandle, the Emerald Coast, Northwest Florida without talking about the beach. So, of course, this area is just home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. With the crystal-clear waters and the white sand as we all, you know, we all say the same thing every time, the emerald green waters and the beautiful sugary white sands because it's true. That's pretty much the main way we can describe it because it's absolutely beautiful. So, if you do enjoy the beaches, you have several options along our coast to be able to enjoy one of the beaches. Some of the popular beaches going from west to east. I got that right. You have Pensacola Beach. You have Navarre Beach. There's the Okaloosa Island Fort Walton Beach, there's this nice little area there too that you'll be able to sit on the beach before you head out to Destin. And then you have Miramar Beach, Santa Rosa Beach, you have 30A area and you are probably familiar with Panama City Beach as well. So, it's hundreds and hundreds of miles of beautiful beach to be able to enjoy here in Northwest Florida.

WATER SPORTS

Now with that being said, being by the beach comes water sports, obviously. So, with this proximity to the Gulf of Mexico and other bodies of water, Northwest Florida does offer a wide range of water sport activities such as kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkeling, scuba diving, and fishing. Of course, Destin is known as the world's luckiest fishing village. So, if you are a huge fan of fishing or if it's a big hobby of yours, definitely check that out in the Destin area. There's lots of fishing charters, unless you already are fully equipped with what you need to be able to enjoy fishing. But definitely, it's very popular here in our area.

CRUISES

Now, if you are more into the relaxing mode but you still want to be out on the water, you can still enjoy the cruises. Like, there's a dolphin cruise. And to make that even better, they have the sunset dolphin cruises. So, you can be able to get on a boat and to be able to enjoy watching the sunset and watching the goofy little dolphins putting on a show for you trying to get your attention because they love your attention. Or if you can, also you can rent out or charter a pontoon and head out to Crab Island and just relax out there for a few hours. Crab Island is in Destin, just north of the bridge. So, it's very popular, very shallow area that a lot of people have definitely seen pictures or videos of and asked, what is that? What is that area? There are so many boats around there and there's people in the water. They're not wearing floaties or like that. It's because it's very shallow out there in Crab Island where the water is around waist deep. So, a lot of people go out there and they're pontoons and other boats just to go out there and relax. And, just make sure you bring your sunscreen because, again, you are way out there in the open unless you do plan on just sitting up under the shade on your pontoon all day long. But either way, you're going to be able to enjoy being outdoors, enjoy the breeze, and just enjoy being around the water.

Now, if you are looking for something a little more exciting to do. There's lots of businesses in the area that do rent out the equipment that you need as far as the jet skis and paddle boarding, everything that you need to be able to go out in the water and have a good time with your children or with friends or even by yourself. There's fun for everybody is what I'm saying. So, definitely look into what you want to do here in the Northwest Florida area because again, there are a variety of activities for every one of all ages to be able to enjoy. So, pretty much to sum it up, Northwest Florida is a great destination for outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy the state parks, the beaches, golfing, biking, hiking, wildlife viewing. You name it, we have it here in our area.
