Gulf Breeze Florida Living | Should you MOVE to Gulf Breeze?
Gulf Breeze Florida Living | Should you MOVE to Gulf Breeze?
So you're wondering if you should move to the Gulf Breeze area? Well, my team and I came up with nine separate things that you need to consider when making that decision. And number nine might actually come to a surprise to you, even if you live in the surrounding areas.
So let's just jump into it. What are we talking about today is moving to Gulf Breeze. Is this a good idea for you and your family? Well, let's get into it. Number one is it is a great place for schools. So they've got great well-funded schools in the area. It's actually graded A and the elementary school, the middle school and the high school are all co-located in one area. Pretty nice, huh? So it's definitely a great place for the kids and just great community all around. And number two is your close proximity to Pensacola Beach. You think Pensacola Beach would actually be off of Pensacola. It's not. You actually have to go through Gulf Breeze to get there. And just going through Gulf Breeze, you'll hit a bridge and it'll take you right down to where everybody goes and wants to go hang out on Pensacola Beach.
Now down there, there's tons and tons of stuff to do. You've got the boardwalk with restaurants and bars and things of that nature. Of course, you've got the big sandy beaches to go hang out with for you, your friends or your family. You've also got pontoon boat rentals. Heck you can do the parasailing trip, fishing. There's just tons and tons of stuff to do down there. And it's only a short trip away. Next thing we have on there is the proximity to Pensacola in the city.
If you go down another bridge, just going to the West now you have access to Pensacola, which is a small city in our area. Good thing about that is, is that if you're looking for nightlife, that's where it's at. They've got a baseball stadium there. They've also got the ice hockey, the Ice Flyers go there in the winter time. Again, tons of restaurants and just things to do. Not only that, but there's a major international airport there. So getting in and out is actually pretty convenient. Number four is the affordability to live. Now, being that you're right there and within a half mile of the water, the actual cost of housing here isn't quite that bad.
Your average or median price for purchasing a home is around $340,000. Now, if you're looking to rent, your average rent is going to be somewhere around $1,374. And number five is the small, tight knit community. Because you're typically within half a mile to water, pretty much anywhere that you're on the peninsula, you're surrounded by water on three different sides. With that being said, you have a whole lot of houses that are built right next to each other. So you're definitely going to get to know your neighbor, but that's really good. because there's a big pride in the community there. They really take pride in their homes and you'll see it as you drive through the area. So definitely very, very nice community. And number six is the Gulf Breeze Zoo. It is surprising that we actually do have a small little zoo in our area. But yes, we do have one.
There's actually really good selection of different animals that they do have out there. It'll take you about two hours to actually get through the whole zoo. They've got a bunch of different things for you to check out. But from what people have told me, you're definitely going to want to check out the feeding of the giraffes. And give that a shot because people rave about that. All right. And number seven is the proximity to Navarre Beach.
Now, if you don't want to go down to the hustle and bustle of Pensacola beach, you can drive maybe 15-20 minutes and you'll be right there at Navarre Beach. So a little bit more of a secluded area. There's not a whole lot of crowds that go into this area. But it's just a different beach with a little bit slower feel where you can go out and just hang out for the day. Great place to go check out. Number eight is the Oak Ridge Gun Range. Now, if you like to shoot, this is a great place to go. This is not an outdoor range, which is nice because you know how hot it can get here.
They do have two separate places, usually one for long rifles and others for handguns. They've got safety courses there and they have gun sales. And it's really cool if you want to go out and shoot. And the last one that I have for you is the Naval Lives Oak Nature Preserve. Now, that actually is a good portion of the Gulf Breeze area that you didn't even know existed. It actually has nine miles worth of hiking trails throughout there. If you do decide to go out and hike around there, you'll find secluded beaches, nice little places to maybe picnic or even bring your own puppy with you to run around.
But yes, if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of just normal Gulf Breeze and the beach life, you can just go right down the street, check out this area and just be able to go for a hike. So that's everything that we have for the things that you need to know about moving here to Gulf Breeze.
