Are you looking for new employment in Destin, Florida whether you're getting ready to relocate here or you're local and just looking for a new line of work? Well, in this video, I am going to talk about a few different job opportunities in Destin. That way, hopefully, you'll be able to decide which one would be the best for you. That way, you can have the best job in Destin, Florida.

Alright. So, the best job to get in Destin, Florida. Actually, it really just depends on you and what you like to do and what you're comfortable with doing, and really the environment that you like to work in.

So first, let's talk about outdoor jobs. If you like to be outdoors and you just, you know, can't stand to be behind the, you know, four walls, close doors, then definitely you have lots of opportunities to find a great outdoor job. There's beach service. I think it's a pretty cool job. You can put out the chairs and umbrellas for all the guests that are staying in the condos all along the beach. So, you can actually, not just in Destin but in Fort Walton Beach and Miramar Beach, Santa Rosa Beach, so many locations that, where you can have the opportunity to do beach service.

You can also do landscaping. That's an awesome outdoor opportunity for you to have as far as employment. There's lots and lots of areas where they're looking for great landscaping. Keep up with properties, especially for owners that don't live in the area. Maybe, they just own a second home here or vacation rentals, and they're just not around to keep up with the property. So, landscaping is a great way to go. If you're looking to be outside and you don't mind doing the work, maintaining yards. Lots of commercial properties could use some upkeep as well, not to say that the Destin area isn't well kept. But again, there's always the opportunity to join a crew or maybe to start your own business. There's lots of locally owned businesses around the area. So, landscaping is definitely a great opportunity. You like to be outdoors and help people out with maintaining their property.

Another way to enjoy outdoors is lots of water fun, especially if you like being around the water or in the water. You can do fishing charter. You own your own boat and you love to be out there and just want to give other people the opportunity to enjoy fishing. People that may not own their own boats or people that are not from the area just visiting and they just want to go, you know, have fun and experiencing what it's like to go fishing. So, fishing charter is definitely a great business. I've been on my first fishing charter over this past summer. It was pretty fun. I got a little motion sickness, so I only threw up one time, just throw all the water that I drink, so it wasn't too gross. But overall, I did have a great time. There's also a watercraft rentals, if you want to work in an area where they, you know, they've rent out the watercrafts like pontoons, jet skis, kayaks, paddle boards. That way you can be able to assist people in having fun out on the water.

There's also the opportunity to work out at Crab Island. You want to be a Crab Island vendor. There's people out there that, of course, go around their boats and they offer fruits, like ice creams and pizza, maybe some barbecue. But, that's just a great way to be able to enjoy Crab Island and get paid for it. So, that's an awesome opportunity to be like to be outdoors and out on the water.

Now, let's say you don't like to be outside all day, and you want an indoor job, still lots of opportunities for working indoors in Destin.

For instance, there's working at condos and hotels. Of course, that's always a booming business in this area since it's very popular. Lots of people come to visit. Peak season is crazy. Lots of bookings and even the off season. There's a lot of people that prefer to come during the off season, so it's not as crowded and there's snowbirds that come down to get away from their freezing temperatures back home and like to enjoy the warmer weather here in Florida. So, there's always business when it comes to condos and hotels, whether you want to work front desk or if you want to do housekeeping. That's an opportunity for you to just kind of go to different places. You don't have to necessarily sit down in one place if you like to be indoors but don't want to exactly sit still.

You'll have good opportunities working in the retail business as well. Lots of souvenir shops, there's the Destin Commons, there's the Silver Sands Outlet if you want to go a little bit further out in Destin. But, there's always lots of retail stores that could use extra help during the peak season as well versus a lot of people that come here want to get their souvenirs. Lots of locals like to do a lot of shopping too. So retail is a great opportunity to or a great option for indoor employment.

There's also restaurants. Lots of great restaurants in Destin. So, if you're into the restaurant industry, whether it's bartending or being a server or hosting. Being a cook, dishwasher, whatever is, that takes to run a good establishment. That's another opportunity for you in Destin. There's different types of foods. There's, of course, there's seafood restaurants. There's barbecue, there's Japanese food, there's Mexican restaurants. You name it, we have it in the Destin area. So if you, especially if you are in the culinary, you'll definitely be able to find a place that would definitely love to take you on. So, definitely keep that in mind, as far as working in a restaurant.

Now speaking of you not wanting to stay in one place for too long, another opportunity that would be great for you to be out and about. It's to be an Uber or a Lyft driver. Especially in Destin, there's a lot of bars, a lot of people hang out places. So, there's a lot of people that come and don't necessarily want to drive because they know what they're about to get into. So, a lot of stuff that the Uber drivers and Lyft drivers say would definitely make some good money transporting those people around safely. For those that understand that it's not good to drink and drive. You know, you want to enjoy being out with your friends or a group, you don't want to have to designate that one friend to just, you know, be the responsible one and not drink. If you want everyone to have a great time, there's the Uber drivers are always an option, which is why that's a great opportunity if you're looking for work. Especially, if you don't mind working night time hours. Of course, more people are out and about and having a great time hitting the bars. And then, you also can do operator shuttle bus beach service. There's some condos and other places that offer shuttle service, so they would transfer people from their hotels or their condos off to the beach. So that's another opportunity for you to not sit in one place to go ahead and transfer people around. Of course, they would greatly appreciate the ride getting to the beach. It's not so much walking distance. Maybe they don't have a rental car, don't want to take their own vehicle, just rather have someone drive them. So, being a shuttle bus driver is a great opportunity. There's Valet. Valet is a great option for not sitting in one place, but you're still up moving around. There are some hotels, even some events where they offer valet service, so that's a great opportunity. Get some good tips too. There's also DoorDash or Waiter or whatever apps people use to order their food for delivery. That's a great business, especially for the condos and hotels. People, you know, guests are, you know, in for the day. They're tired from being out on the beach. They just want food to be delivered to them. But, maybe they don't have direct delivery service. DoorDash is a great employment for people to be able to enjoy getting around and delivering quick food to people. Of course, that's very appreciative, another great way to make tips as well.

Now, if pay is more of a concern for you, then, of course, one of the highest paying jobs in the Destin area from what I've researched with, you know, physicians and dentists. So, if you are not already in that line of work, you may want to look into what's needed to be able to get into that career choice, you know, college degrees, of course. And then, you also want to look at, you know, they just really decide if that's what you want to do in this area. There's some people that I've known that went into medical school, but then at the end, they decided it wasn't for them. Sort of happened with me too, years ago. I did enroll in some medical assisting course, but then I decided that's probably not what's good for me, but I still wanted to be in the medical field. So, I did medical billing and coding. I did get an associate's degree on that, but still wasn't for me, and I went into real estate instead. So, definitely don't regret that choice.

But, if you just want to enjoy all of the above. Little bonus here, all of the above, which was outdoor employment indoor, maybe some water fun, not staying in one place and great pay, be a real estate agent. Great opportunity in the Destin areas, surrounding areas. Especially, there's lots of real estate opportunities, people like to buy, sell, invest here in around the Destin area. And then, being in real estate, there's no cap on your income. You can earn as much as you're willing to put in the work for it. So that's, again, an awesome job for Destin. It's a choice that I don't regret. I know there's thousands of other agents in the area, but that doesn't really take away from your pockets. It's just as much work as you're willing to put in. Just have the great potential for making so much money in a real estate business.
