7 Worst Things about Living in Valparaiso Florida

No place is perfect. That is certainly the case for Valparaiso Florida. So what we did here at the Whittemore Group is compile a list of the seven worst things about living in Valparaiso.

1. The Sound of Freedom

We know, seeing multi-million dollar jets fly over on a regular basis is something that can get on your nerves, let alone hearing them. However, if you ask any local, or anyone that has lived here for a longer period of time, they will probably tell you they never notice teh sounds of aircraft flying above.

2. Waterfront Views

This one irritates a lot of people. There is just so much waterfront views that it is just unbareable. Residents are often quoted saying they can't stand looking out onto the beautiful gulf and seeing the gorgeous white sand beaches. So, if you are not a fan of incredible views, then Valparaiso propbably isn't the place for you.

3. School Systems

Valparaiso has one of the most saught-after school systems in the area. It is part of the Niceville school system, which also boasts some of the best schools in the area. Therefore, everyone is trying ot get their kids into the district. But, if you aren't concerned about the quality of the education system in Valparaiso, then it's definitely not a place for you.

4. Military Friendly Environment

Due to Valparaiso's proximity to Eglin and Hurlburt, military personnel make up a lot of the residents of the area. With that being said, if you don't want to be part of a military friendlt environment, then Valparaios isn't the best choice. Furthermore, a lot of military contractors and retired military veterans make Vaparaioso their home, so you'll always have friendly faces around.

5. Housing Affordability

Now let's get into something that bugs almost everyone. Valparaiso is an incredibly affordable place to live. How terrible, right?! The median home price is $260,000 and if you want a waterfront property, expect to pay around $829,000. Honestly, we are suprised at how affordable Valparaiso is. There are so many amenaties that the area offers, you'd expect it to cost more.

6. Limited Entertainment Spots

We'll be honest, this is the first thing that actually might be a "con" of living in Valparaiso. If you are looking to take advantage of the night life that Valparaiso, then you might be a bit dissapointed. Valparaiso is mostly a residential area with a few pubs and bars scattered about. There are quite a few tasty restaurants that are in the area, but your best option to enjoy a night out would be to find your way to Fort Walton Beach or Destin.

7. Traffic

Now for the second real worst thing about living in Valparaiso, traffic. As we have hinted at previously, Valparaiso, and the rest of the area, has a high concentration of military personnel and civilian contractors. Therefore, the traffic to and from the bases can get significantly backed up. Although, with the proper level of planning, the traffic can be avoided and managed without too much headache.

Well, that brings our top 7 worst things about Valparaiso to a close. As you can see, Valparaiso is a great place to live with a lot to offer its residents.
