7 Things you MUST know before Living in Navarre Florida
7 Things you MUST know before Living in Navarre Florida
Navarre is a great place to live. It's close to everything in Fort Walton Beach and Destin, yet it still has everything a small town needs to have, plus you don't have to pay the Fort Walton Beach and Destin prices, which makes it that much better. Although, there is still so much about Navarre that not very many people know, so Stephanie took it upon herself to bring you seven things you need to know about Navarre before you move here:
1. Price of Homes
We'll start with what we at the Whittemore Group knows best, real estate. Navarre has a median home value of $240,000. Right off the bat, that is an incredible price for a home. What makes that number even better is when you couple it with the fact that Navarre is the second-best area for affordable new construction. Yes, you read that right. You can get brand new home for only $240,000! That is almost unheard of.
2. Great for Families
We can be honest when we say that the whole Emerald Coast is great for raising families, or just a family to be in. However, Navarre is THE place to be.
Navarre's population sits just above 30,000. 83% of that are married couples and 55% of the married couples have children younger than the age of 18. So, if you have kids, you can be confident that your children will have plenty of opportunity to make tons of friends.
3. Great Schools
To add to the second point, Navarre is known to have incredible schools. To throw some statistics at you, the high school graduation rate in Navarre is 10% higher than the United States national average and 10% higher than the Florida average. Once again, you kids will be in great hands both in a social aspect as well in an educational aspect.
4. Low Crime Rates
Moving on to a more serious subject, the crime rate in Navarre is 10% lower than the Florida average and 7% lower than the Unites States average, which is good news for residents or of Navarre. Many residents never think too much about crime in their area because it is known to be a completely safe area.
5. Local Amenities
Once again, Navarre is a growing city, however, it has many of the grocery stores and big box stores that a larger city would have. You never have to drive very far to get the things you need. It's never a 30-minute journey to the next town over to get groceries or go shopping. It is simply right down the street. Furthermore, Navarre is very close to several restaurants, both fast-food and dine in. What makes this better is that there is a diverse selection you can choose from. If you are feeling Mexican food? You got it. Seafood? great. Craving a burger? They've definitely got it.
6. Navarre Beach Fishing Pier
Say you like to fish, well, Navarre has got you covered. The Navarre Beach Fishing Pier is a 1,500-foot-long pier that sits 30 feet above the water and gives fishing enthusiasts the opportunity to fish whenever their heart desires.
7. Traffic on Highway 98
As a real estate channel that strives to give you all the important information about the local area, we couldn't leave out something that everyone deserves to know. The traffic on highway 98 can be, to put it lightly, terrible. Traffic is the heaviest during the morning and afternoon when everyone is trying to get to work. For those of you that work on Hurlburt field, the commute is tolerable, but for the others, you better learn to be patient. Fortunately, the traffic isn't always that bad. There is plenty of time where you can get to your destination in a reasonable amount of time and the longer you live in the area, you know when those times are.
BONUS: More Beaches!!!!
You didn't think we would leave you a negative like that, did you? Absolutely not! You are living on the Emerald Coast, which means you have access to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Navarre Beach has a reputation of being one of the most relaxing places on the Emerald Coast. As a Navarre resident, you'll get to take advantage of that any time you want.
Well, that wraps up the seven (plus one) things you need to know about Navarre Florida before you live here.
