5 Things you Must Know Before Moving to Crestview Florida
Are you interested in moving to the Crestview area, but just don't know enough about it? Well, don't worry, we've got you covered. In this blog, we'll tell you the top 5 things that you NEED to know when you are considering moving to Crestview. So, let's get this thing kicked off with number one thing you need to know:
1. Housing
Crestview is one of the best and most affordable places to live in all of the Emerald Coast. Crestview has a ton of new construction, so you will most likely be purchasing a house that has been built, if not this year, then in the last few years. When you do start looking for houses to purchase, you can expect to pay around $225,000. This price point will get you a decent sized lot and a house that is around 2,000 square feet. However, if you are looking to rent instead of purchasing, the average rent is $987 a month.
2. Rural
Crestview is a growing city; therefore, it is still a very rural area. To help solidify this point, Crestview has been given the nickname CresTUCKY. You know, Kentucky.. CresTUCKY.. Get it? Whether you like the nickname or not, it won't change the fact that there is still a lot of open land and homes that are built on multi acre lots. Fortunately, Crestview does have strip malls and some shopping available, so you won't have to drive too far to get the things you need.
3. Traffic
Once again, traffic makes an appearance on this blog. The infrastructure that has been in place around the Emerald Coast has not changed despite the growing population of the surrounding cities. Crestview does get significantly backed up along highway 85. Due to Eglin Air Force Base being the main source of employment, there are a ton of people that are commuting and causing the additional traffic.
4. No Nightlife
One of the unfortunate realities of Crestview is that there is a significant lack of activities to do in the evenings. beyond the handful of bars that are open, there really is nothing else for residents to do. Your best bet is to head into Niceville, Destin, or Fort Walton Beach if you are wanting to go out for the evening.
5. Great Southern Feel
Crestview is exactly what you would expect when thinking of the Southern Charm. The people in Crestview are very friendly and welcome their neighbors with open arms. Plus, there is a lot of retired and active-duty military that live in Crestview, so if you are moving to the area and have a military background, you will be around plenty of people that are similar to you.
That about covers the top 5 things you need to know about living in Crestview before making the move. If you know anything you think we should add to this list, please call/text us at 850.320.7757 or email us at Admin@WhittemoreGroupRE.com
